Is Adsense A (business leadership coaching) Good Idea or Not?
No commentsBy capil001
For many webmasters, Google AdSense has become a great revenue generator. Since the program pays the webmaster every time a visitor of their website clicks on the ads that Google displays in their web pages, the same has become a truly viable and profitable option to earn a living online. As a matter of fact, there are countless webmasters who have dropped their day jobs so that they could focus on the AdSense program.
They build dozens and dozens of websites, all of which carry their AdSense code, hoping to generate amazing earnings from such an approach. After all, if one website can generate $25 per month (a low average at that), how much could 100 websites be able to produce for the webmaster?
But success with the Google AdSense program is contingent on three things:
1. Cost per Click (CPC) attached to the ads that will be displayed,
2. Page impressions, or the number of people who will get to visit the website, and
3. Click Through Rate (CTR), or the ratio of people who will click on the ads vis a vis page impressions.
The CPC can be approximated by checking out the going rate of the keyword to be targeted before building a website. The resource that can be found at is an excellent tool to help anyone in determining the possible CPC for certain search words or phrases.
The CTR can be improved by arranging the AdSense blocks in a manner that would make them look like organic parts of the website.
But page impressions would be a little more difficult to achieve.
Page impressions are actually equivalent to what is generally known as web traffic. Web traffic, of course, refers to the volume of users who manages to load up a particular page of your website. It has been said that traffic is the lifeblood of any online venture, and this couldn’t be truer for websites that earn via Pay Per Click (PPC) programs.
In a nutshell, the success of your Google AdSense campaign would depend on the volume of traffic you’ll be able to generate for your website, or websites.
You could try a lot of marketing tactics, but often, these strategies take time to gestate. Additionally, each and every competitor of yours would be trying out the same techniques, and there is no real guarantee about how much traffic you could derive from them.
This has led many webmasters to try out PPC advertising for their PPC earning campaigns. The way it goes is that they will advertise their websites through Google AdWords. Google will then display their links the way it displays AdSense ads. The webmasters who decide to take this route would then have to pay Google every time a user clicks on the ads that lead to their websites.
How do these webmasters earn, when they’re supposed to spend for every click?
Well, most of them build websites that are exclusively made up of AdSense ads. Hence, whenever a user is led to their pages, he’d have no choice but to click on the relevant ads that appear therein.
There are some webmasters, on the other hand, who rely on the strength of their content. They use AdWords to expose their websites to people, hoping that those very users would love what they’ll see and theyll keep coming back every now and then.
There are pros and cons to this strategy, however. Let’s take a look at the advantages first.
You will attain guaranteed traffic.
You will attain highly targeted traffic. Since your visitors will be composed of people who are interested with the subject of you website, there is a higher likelihood that they will click on the ads that would appear on your pages.
You will only have to pay for the traffic that your website would receive. Nothing more, nothing less.
But it’s not rosy for this approach. Here are the disadvantages.
You’d have to spend.
There is no guarantee that you’ll be able to recoup your financial investments.
Google is cracking down on websites that are merely composed of AdSense ad blocks. If you opt to use this approach, and your website is composed exclusively of AdSense ads, chances are, your website would get de-indexed and your AdSense account would get suspended if Google catches you.
The best way to go is to rely on the strength of your website. Prepare unique, premium content and hook your visitors with the same. Content is king in the World Wide Web, after all.
If you decide to use AdWords to get some traffic, make sure you have a mailing list in place to capture their contact details and ensure for yourself some repeat visitors. PPD advertising should only be used to gain initial traffic, until your other marketing strategies would finally produce the desired results.

Adsense Play with the Rules
By capil001
AdSense has become a major part of many Internet marketers income portfolios. It’s fast and easy and of course very lucrative if you take the time to learn how to implement it effectively.
Like most income streams though, there are always people out there who do their best to take advantage of the system in any way they can to maximize their earnings. Exploiting systems by taking advantage of the shortcomings or bugs in the system is generally a short term deal. As soon as the supplier finds out that they are either not getting or not providing value for their service, they will very quickly close any ‘holes’ and fix the bugs. When you take into account the millions of dollars that are generated from Adsense ads each month, it goes without saying that Google will go to great lengths to ensure that their advertisers are getting good value for their advertising dollar.
With this in mind, if you intend to monetize your site with Adsense and want this to be a long term income strategy you need to be familiar with the terms and conditions. Lets strip away some of the ‘legalese’ and take a look at some of the policies, requirements and also the type of activity that may cause your account to be terminated.
* Up to three ad units may be displayed on each Web site page - that’s pretty clear. You can have up to 3 ad units, regardless of size or placement, on each of your web pages.
* A maximum of two Google AdSense for search boxes may be placed on a page - again, that’s easy enough to understand. The search boxes are the ones that allow you or your visitors to search the Internet or your web site using a Google Search box on your web page.
* A single link unit may be placed on each Web site page, in addition to the ad units and search boxes - the link units are a different format to standard adsense units. They provide just the link with no URL or additional text. You can have one of these in addition to your adsense ads and search boxes.
* A single referral button per product may be placed on a page - Google will pay you for referrals, but you are allowed only one referral link on each web page.
Those policies spell out what you are allowed to do. Now lets look at things you aren’t allowed to do. From an advertisers point of view, the quality of the page their advertisement is displayed on will bear a relation to the quality of the visitors who actually click on this page. This is one of the reasons you are not permitted to place ad units on pages that have no other content. The rule of thumb is that you should only be placing ad units on pages that contain some sort of valuable or useful content.
The reality is that it is in your interest to provide useful content. The better your content is, the more likely it is that it will appear higher in the search engines. This in turn brings you more traffic and the traffic you get is mostly people who are interested in the subject matter of your site. These also happen to be the people who are most likely to click on your ads simply because they have come to your web site looking for information and/or products.
Other things that you need to avoid in order to protect your account include:
* Never place ad units on pornographic, racist or hate related sites.
* Never place ad units on error, registration or ‘thank you’ pages. Remember, the advertisers want their ads on useful, relevant pages. Common sense should tell you that these pages are neither relevant or useful for advertising. It’s a bit like placing an ad inside a cabinet. Nobody goes there looking for information or products!
* Never click on any of the ads on your website. This is considered fraud (for obvious reasons). If you do accidentally click on an ad, make sure you contact Google support immediately and let them know which page and the date and approximate time.
* Never place ads on pages that you display in Traffic or surfing/hit exchanges. This is mentioned in the policies and is not permitted.
I hope this information has been useful. Adsense is a great way to earn some extra income, but you need to make the effort to ensure you are within the terms and conditions. At the end of the day, common sense should give you a good indication whether you are doing the right thing with Adsense ads

YOU WONT FIND ANY ADSENSE ADS ON MY WEBSITE.
By capil001
Yes, Ive read about the apparent death of Adsense and my inbox has been stuffed with claims and counter claims about the value of this product or that strategy. . But that is not the reason.
You see, I am a writer. I love nothing more than to research and write material on the area of my passion. In fact I have devoted my life to that very thing. Other than a bit of housework and meal preparation in support of my hardworking life- partner, my time is spent online researching and writing my own material. I am very proud of the material I have produced and offer in the form of articles and e-books on my website.
Once I have attracted a visitor to my site, why on earth would I want them to suddenly leave and go who knows where? At least if they clicked on an affiliate link I have something of an advantage for two reasons: (a) I have chosen where the visitor will go when they leave my site and (b) I could receive some income if they purchase the product or service on the site to which I am an affiliate.
With Adsense, the most likely place my hard-earned visitor would end up would be my direct competitor! Thats like owning a Pizza restaurant and advertising the local Chicken Take-Away in my establishment. Yet, that is in effect, the type of thing I would be doing if I displayed Adsense on my site. Yes, it might make sense to Google to provide contextual advertising. It would probably even make sense to the advertiser (otherwise why would they do it). But it makes no sense to me.
I write because I believe I have something worthwhile to say. I believe, in all honesty, there are a lot of people who would benefit from hearing what I have to say. . I also believe that laborers are worthy of their hire, so yes, I offer some of my material for sale. I put my material before people. If they like what they see, if it fills a need in their life at that particular moment in time, they may buy. If they dont like what they see, thats okay. But the last thing I want is for them to rush in and out of my store because their attention has been grabbed by my competitor who I allow to stand in the entrance to my place of business for the purpose of diverting my customers across to his store. Will they come back to me? I dont really know, but I sure as heck would rather it didnt happen in the first place.
On the other hand, I recognize that I am something of a crusader. My site is not there specifically for me to make money, although the income is appreciated. If I was only interested in making money (and it seems, if you believe everything you read you either make millions or you make zero when you are in business on the Internet. There is, apparently, no middle ground) then I could provide the mega-store approach and offer you anything and everything your heart desires.
I heard recently of one entrepreneur who has 75000 websites! Apparently the content on those sites is so unappealing that he makes tens of thousands of dollars each month from Adsense alone. To that I say Great. I trust he enjoys his money I choose to journey along a road apparently less traveled. What I lose out on in the area of financial gain, I certainly make up for in satisfaction of achieving my lifes goal and a career path that I honestly love. There not much more I could ask for.
